FROM JANET: "The title of my book is Moonlight in Odessa, which explores the world of eastern European email-order brides and the men who finance them. The teetering dance between humor and heartbreak burns through this tale that takes place at the intersection of love and money, East and West, male and female. It has been translated into a dozen languages, most recently in French as Les fiancées d'Odessa."

ABOUT JANET: Originally from Montana, Janet Skeslien Charles has lived in France since 1998. Here in Paris, she's taught English, led creative writing workshops, and worked at the American Library as programs manager. She is the author of Moonlight in Odessa, which Publishers' Weekly chose as one of their top winter debuts and was a book of the month selection for National Geographic Traveler. Before moving to France, she worked for two years in Odessa, Ukraine, as a Soros Fellow.
