"The Evolution Of An Artist "

Tom Byrne
T
om was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland where has worked as a painter for 22 years. He graduated as an industrial model builder, from the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin. He then went to the USA where he trained for two years.
Upon his return to Ireland he resumed a career in painting, founded two arts organizations in Ireland and became a member of the United Arts Club, Fitzwilliam square, Dublin.

In 2004 he had his first solo show and in that same year moved to France with his French wife Amelie. On arriving he began an eight month course in Trompe L’oeil and Faux Painting effects at L’ecole des Peintres where he mastered techniques of painting in egg tempera, as well as much of the secret chemistry of paint. Images of Provence often appear in Tom's work. He is inspired by the strong summer light and the softer winter landscape.

Tom Byrne has just returned, this December 2006, from three weeks in New York where he decorated a room in the infamous Carlton Arms Hotel. The walls of the room have been painted with a mural symbolizing the legend of the apple branch and summarizing, in symbol form, core beliefs of Celtic culture; Please visit http://www.tombyrne.com
