Prior to CloudOpt, Joe was at F5 Networks, where he was responsible for the direction of the WAN Optimization product line. Joining during F5's startup phase,Joe was instrumental in driving the growth of F5 Networks as its products became a critical component of Internet infrastructure. In technical roles at F5, including Principal Network Engineer, he designed, implemented and troubleshot some of the largest and most complex networks at enterprises and websites around the world. In his sales roles, he re-opened critical markets in Asia Pacific including China, Australia-New Zealand, and Latin America. Prior to F5 Networks, Joe has also held technical positions at several enterprises, including Qwest Communications, PPG Industries, and Merck.

Joe has been working with technology since he was very young and has given talks around the world about the building blocks of the Internet for many years.

The King's Speech is a 2010 British historical drama film directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler. Colin Firth plays King George VI who, to overcome his stammer, sees Lionel Logue, an Australian speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush. The two men become friends as they work together, and after his brother Edward VIII abdicates, the new king relies on Logue to help him make a radio broadcast on the day that Britain goes to war with Germany at the beginning of World War II.

Seidler, who began researching George VI's life after overcoming his own stammer during his youth, wrote about the men's relationship.

Nine weeks before filming, Logue's notebooks were discovered and quotations from them were incorporated into the script. Principal photography took place in London and other locations in Britain, in December 2009 and early January 2010. The film was released in the United Kingdom on 7 January 2011.

Judith Merians has been an entertainment attorney and business executive for the Hollywood Studios and independent production companies for 27 years. She has taught the business, finance, and legal aspects of filmmaking at the University of California Los Angeles Extension Film School for 12 years and in film schools around the world and has spoken at many film conferences including the Cannes Film Festival and the American Film Market seminars. She is currently a consultant to independent filmmakers and film school professor.

The events of the past week involving Strauss-Kann can be a catalyst for discussing the difference between sexual mores and traditions between NY-CALIF-WASHINGTON and Paris and the way the press treats celebrities and high-profile politicians. (Recall JFK and how he was protected. How different was he from DSK ??) Also, the contrast in French and American reactions. What are we teaching our young? How will the world's leading democracies find leaders if their past and present personal lives risk being subjected to continuous moral scrutiny? Could be very interesting.

Redhot & Blue, usually shortened to Redhot, is Yale University's oldest coeducational a cappella group. Founded in 1977, the group has released eleven albums and toured around the United States and the world. Repertoire for the group is based in the jazz genre, though many of their arrangements stray from this. Redhot is a member of the Singing Group Council of Yale. The group's name is derived from the musical Red, Hot and Blue (1936), written by Yale alumnus Cole Porter, class of 1913. The group name combines Redhot into one word and uses an ampersand, unlike the show. Cole Porter's work is featured often in Redhot's repertoire, from Antoinette Birby, written when he was in college, to more popular songs like "It's De-Lovely", "I Get a Kick Out of You", "Night And Day", and "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye".

Miles was born in The Bronx, New York, at the beginning of hip hop culture in the early 1970s. He expatriated from the United States to Paris, France during 2004 in response to the Iraq War. His debut essay collection, "Scars of the Soul Are Why Kids Wear Bandages When They Don't Have Bruises" (2004) – a book described as “an observant and urbane B-boy’s rites of passage” – established him as a prose stylist observing American culture in a style directly influenced by Joan Didion, mixing personal reflection with social analysis and humor.

Miles’s second book, "There’s a Riot Goin’ On" (2006), deals with the making of the seminal 1971 album of the same name by Sly and the Family Stone, and the death of the 1960s counterculture. Lewis is the founder and editor of the literary journal Bronx Biannual. He and his French wife Christine Herelle-Lewis live together in France raising their sons, Lucas and Kalel

In 2007, Miles launched Furthermucker.com, where he blogs regularly about the arts, pop culture, hip-hop culture, and his experiences as a black American expatriate in 21st-century Paris.

"Ernest Hemingway's Paris: The Paris Of The Lost Generation. More Great Stories."

Ernest Hemingway, a giant of 20th century American literature (a Nobel Prize winner), learned much of his skill here in Paris mingling with the Personalities of the day such as Gertrude Stein, James Joyce and Ezra Pound. Many of his books and short stories are rich in Paris references, most notably “The Sun Also Rises” and “A Moveable Feast”. He was the quintessential American .expatriate of the 1920s. Pamela Grant will present Hemingway's early period in Paris when he lived in the Mouffetard district and Montparnasse. He spent about 7 years there and managed to publish a bestseller “The Sun Also Rises” in 1926 (nearly calling it “The Lost Generation” - a term coined by fellow Paris expat Gertrude Stein to describe World War I Veterans ). The indelible mark that he left on this mythic city has drawn many of us to Paris in search of the Hemingway myth that he spawned nearly a century ago. We'll hear more great stories about who we think of as being :special personalities of a special era

About Pamela Grant: After graduating from Vassar College with a degree in Art History, Pam came to France over 15 years ago to pursue French studies. The "endless beauty and history" of the “City of Light” drew her in. She passed the rigorous French national guide exam and has been leading groups on historic and thematic tours of Paris for over 10 years. Her other passion is writing. Specializing in the film industry, she recently adapted “La Vie en Rose” into English. Hemingway and the Lost Generation is one of her favorite tours.

Singer.Songwriter.Screenwriter. Novelist.

Susan Sisko Carter has written teleplays for some of the major producers in television, including David Simon, Gavin Palone, and David Chase. She has written feature films for Disney and United Artists, and is a recipient of the Luminas Award from Women in Film. As a singer-songwriter, she has recorded for Verve and Epic, under the name: Susan Carter. In 2008, a song, which she co-wrote, was featured on Broadway in Chazz Palminteri’s A Bronx Tale. She is pleasantly at work on a new album. Her smoky, sensual tune, “Sipping Wine in Paris,” a short story set to music, features piano accompaniment by film composer/sometimes-guest-conductor for the Moscow Philharmonic, Terry Plumeri. The song will be available, soon ... in conjunction with her debut novel: "I Want Your Husband".

"I Want Your Husband" was inspired by Susan’s experience living in a hotel, in West Hollywood, for two-and-a-half years. She began the book in the hotel. And finished it in Paris where she resides whenever possible. From David: “I photograph people interacting or in conflict. I find my subjects in public places: fairs, rush hour crowds, subways, and parks. My ideal photo frames an action, a moment of decision being played out on a stage. They capture the element that makes the most ordinary of moments suddenly look unusual, somewhat transcendental, but still pleasant to look at. I am always looking for irony, both dramatic and visual.

Since the mid-1980s I’ve been taking more photographs of homeless people. For me, the daily lives of these people are emblematic of the shift in political and social morals that occured in the United States at the beginning of the 1980s and continues today. My photographs are a form of biography, telling stories about these and other people’s lives. Viewers’ reactions vary widely—shock, denial, revulsion, morbid curiosity, amusement"
