About Jason Luckett:

Jason Luckett is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and essayist based in Los Angeles. Supporting six albums and three independently released EPs, Jason regularly tours the United States and Europe. He’s performed at South by Southwest in Austin, TX and Glastonbury Festival (UK), and has shared the stage or recorded with Tracy Chapman, the Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell and members of Bauhaus and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Since his last visit to Paris he's worked and performed with the artist Poe, helping her establish a new band, toured as a bassist with Sonia & Disappear Fear and started pre-production for an album with 95-year-old legend, Lennie Bluett. (Lennie was actually in Gone with the Wind, danced with the Marx Brothers, Lena Horne, and the Nicholas Brothers!) Jason's latest disc, The Second Half of the Bet (Hope Again), moves organically through folk, jazz, rock and world influences, while retaining the strong personality of what Jason calls “groovy acoustic soul.” His essays and poetry have been published in the anthologies The Black Body and Voices from Leimert Park.

“He uses his guitar as an accompaniment to his stellar, expressive voice as well as his intriguing love songs and mesmerizing essays…. He’s a little Sam Cooke, a little Lenny Kravitz, and a little Neil Young.” – Music Connections

“Luckett is a charismatic, romantic poet who wields lyrical dexterity in his heartbreaking yet inspirational narratives.” – HITS Magazine

Now living in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles (a neighborhood known for former residents like Joni Mitchell, Carol King, the Doors, CSNY and Jackson Browne) by way of Honolulu and Orange County, California, Jason Luckett’s soothing voice and intricate guitar chord progressions make for a lovely sunny day — regardless of the actual weather! Check out his video “Moment in the Sun".

ANOTHER EXCITING THEME:

"Embracing The ”Ugly Sexy": Miss "Ugly Sexy "Beauties..." (The "Ugly Sexy" Phenonmenon)

A New Concept Of Beauty

Special Guests Are Teena Karishma and Reena Kajol - two sisters in Paris...
Whose passion is Indian traditional dance. (We'll have a video of Reena And Teena Dancing)

Reena and Teena are contestants for the title of "Miss Ugly-Sexy Beauty Queen, India-France".

Teena Karishma and Reena Kajol were spotted by documentary filmmaker Aslam Ansari in a music program that focused on the regional flare from India.

From Aslam:

"When one watches the video-clips of dancing performance of Teena & Reena... And then listens to their conversation, it is unfolded how the aesthetics of their dance is blended with the concept and image of "ugly-sexy..."  "

More about "Ugly Sexy"

“...He was what Hollywood might call “ugly sexy”—someone who is not considered good-looking by common standards but who is nonetheless desirable. .. this phenomenon can be called “unconventional sexy” because what we often find attractive in someone else has little to do with being gorgeous or beautiful.

SUNDAY 27 JULY 2014

OUR EXCITING THEME:

"HOW JAZZ MAKES WOODY ALLEN'S FILMS MAGICAL AND MEMORABLE".

Special Guest Is Patricia Myers: Jazz Critic. Free-lance Writer from Scottsdale. Arizona

Patricia Myers has been coming to Paris during the summer for 20 years and writes articles about food-and-wine, travel and entertainment, especially jazz. She likes to find new elements of jazz to write and speak about, and she will talk about how and why Woody Allen includes jazz music in his films.

About Patricia Myers:

Patricia writes for national and international print publications, and the Allaboutjazz.com website, where she writes an annual review of the Paris summer jazz scene. She researched and wrote “Scottsdale:Jewel in the Desert”, a 100-year history of the city that tells and shows in vintage photos how a small farming town evolved from the early 1900s into a tourist destination. She is now writing a novel of historical fiction that relates to Paris and World War Two.

For many years, Patricia was an entertainment columnist, and also was editor of a 16-page Food section in the largest daily newspaper in Arizona. Among the topics she wrote about were chocolate and aphrodisiacs, of which she talked to Paris Soirées
