With these depressing economic times, it's nice to have something that's pure fun to look forward to.

Trong Nguyen. Trong will share with us, virtually, highlights of his Paris Champagne Tour.

A DAY IN CHAMPAGNE5WE RETURN TO PARIS THAT NIGHT)

Since I first met Trong a few months ago, I have been inspired by what he does: Trong's tours begin in Paris in the morning and via the TGV, we arrive in Champagne, where we begin the day with a tour of a champagne vineyard around Reims. Once in the vineyard, the guide explains the Champagne soil, the three main grape varieties in Champagne, the vines through the seasons from pruning in winter to ripening and harvest in autumn.

There's also a visit and a wine tasting in a small champagne producer and a traditional French lunch in a restaurant in Reims. Then there's a guided tour of the Reims cathedral and a guided visit to one the most famous champagne houses in champagne, its underground chalk cellar (Tattinger, Veuve Cliquot, Ruinart...) to discover step by step technical wine making: "from grape to champagne" through pressing, first fermentation, blending, bottling, second fermentation, remuage, disgorgemment, corking and finally labeling.

And we'll drink champagne while listening to all of this.
