Writing Your Bio - The Ultimate Networking Tool

The bio has many purposes and can be used in these situations: following a networking event and meeting a key person, you send a follow-up email with your bio attached. A resume might be too heavy (overload), and a bio is easier to read and “digestible”. A second possible scenario…. send your bio in advance of an initial meeting with an individual where you want to set the stage. This can save a lot of time, as once you do meet, you can “cut to the chase”. A third use of the bio is to post on association, club, alumni, company, and personal sites. There are many more ways to use the bio which can even be sent with your resume to round it out and “soften” the edges. My personal opinion is that the bio is a key element in your brand tool kit…..a “must have”. Bios are my area of expertise. I have helped many clients write their bios and tell their story in a compelling way.
