They have been used throughout the ages as a way of creating healing energy and inner peace. They are used to understand out life experiences and ourselves: a way of celebrating your life.

"Ever since I was a child, my dream was to wake up each morning and spend the day being creative. Then to share these creations in a way that would bring joy to others, and inspire them to create something themselves. You might call it a version of “pay it forward.”

Over the years I have been an award-winning artist, a clothes and jewelry designer, and currently creating paper art in the form of handmade journals. Writing is always a part of my creative process. As my life changes, I discover new ways to express myself creatively and believe to be a kind of centering, healing process for me. So when I witnessed Tibetan monks creating mandalas (an ancient art form) I was intrigued. After researching and studying this art form, I began to experiment on creating one for myself. I thought about creating personalized healing mandalas as a business, but that did not feel right to me. So in the spirit of my childhood dream, it occurred to me that I could teach others to create their own, something they would benefit from far more than me doing it for them." "Walks Through Lost Paris: A Journey Into the Heart Of Historic Paris."

Lost Paris: Between 1853 and 1870, Hundreds Of Streets disappeared in Paris. Nearly 20,000 buildings were demolished and 45,000 buildings constructed in their place. Much of the city's history was lost as Medieval and Renaissance quarters crumbled.

When Leonard Pitt discovered that the Parisian neighborhood in which he once lived was entirely rebuilt during this period, he plunged headfirst into archives to try to reconstruct the city that was demolished.

Walking through neighborhoods with 19th-century maps and photos in hand, he searched for lost places Leonard Pitt left a career in advertising in 1963 to study mime in Paris with Etienne Decroux. In 1970, he returned to the U.S. and directed a school of physical theater for eighteen years, attracting students from around the world. He has performed and taught throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He lives in Berkeley, California. Visit: www.leonardpitt.com

Earl Ferguson, an Afro-American from New York City, has been a gymnastics and motion fitness coach for more than 27 years.
