"We seek comfort and companionship with food (Paris Soirees Dinners as an example) and how food is so central to who we are and our quality of life. What happens when, as a result of some illness or other condition, we have to change what we eat? How does this affect our quality of life and how can we measure that change?

Colleagues and I at Northeastern University have conducted a number of focus groups with all types of individuals across the country. It would be great to briefly describe the role of food and our work in this field and get some international flavor on what others think"

"What Is India To Me"

Katrina Neal was born in Hyderabad, the capital city of the Indian state of Andra Pradesh, a meeting point for North and South India, also considered to be the gateway of Southern India.It's also a place where Hindus and Muslims have co-existed peacefully for centuries. She emigrated to Malaysia with her parents when she was only four years old, grew up and studied there.

Beautiful little Katrina was a real Tomboy so her Father encouraged her to go into the field of modeling and grooming. In 1991, she moved back to India, continued her career in modeling and absorbed, as an adult, Indian culture. For Katrina, it was a new awakening. She was inspired by her Indian origins and eventually was more interested in designing clothes "rather than just wearing them." She learned the design business while in India: choosing fabrics, cutting and stitching and remains inspired by the culture and colours of India. She specializes in silk and embroideries.

She then signed exclusive sales and signed contracts for wireless credit card technology to banking institutions in Beijing, China, developed and established 11 high-end innovative sports clubs and spas in Tokyo, Japan, and is now helping individual taxpayers take advantage of the 400 legal tax loopholes in France as a Financial Planner.

Sounds in Bloom: Saxophone And Poetry Performed Like You've Never Seen!

The core performers of the Sounds in Bloom Project will present a sample of their recent pieces. The open project collaborative combines the original texts of performance poet Norma Szokolyai and the contemporary music of Dennis Shafer.

Dennis Shafer is a saxophonist of many styles. Founder of the Back Bay Saxophone Quartet and the Skyline Quintet in Boston, Dennis has spent the last two years diversifying and perfecting his musical interests in Paris. Studying with Jean-Michel Goury at the National
Regional Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt, he has expanded his knowledge and practice of contemporary techniques of the saxophone, while also cultivating new experiences with Egyptian musicians and dancers in Paris.

D. Norma Szokolyai is a Hungarian and American writer and performance poet currently living in Paris. She received her first degree in French and Human Rights (magna cum laude) from the University of Connecticut and will have her Masters in French in June 2007. She iscurrently studying with writer/poet Kathleen Spivack, former student of Robert Lowell.

Anthony Steyning is the author of three acclaimed novels. He is also an essayist, critic and playwright whose plays have been performed in Montreal and New York.

From Anthony: "Over the years I seem to have developed a probing type of writing that digs very deep and very wide, curious to find out where the beauty and all the hurt began. First cutting through the crap, I frequently stumble upon how matters really stand in relation to each other--- issues, trends or conditions, ostensibly linked or not but in the end affecting us in a fashion that isn't always evident. Chef Robert Jonathan Frost (John) has been a Paris Soirees regular since his arrival in Paris from Boston a few months ago. John gave a talk in January about his adventures as a pioneer American chef, owning an American restaurant in London, "Boston Lobster Live". near Buckingham Palace during the 90's. He also hosted a radio talk show "Food Talk On Air". The first Sunday of the month John will collaborate with us on Soirees Gastronomiques. March 4th's theme will be German Gourmet Cuisine. He'll make comments on the dishes he's prepared.

Evenings feature Literary, Art, New Age, Business, African-American and Black Paris themes presented in English. There is an intimate salon atmosphere and the focus is on meeting people in Paris and creating friendships. Patricia is also the founder of African American Literary Soirees and regularly hosts Paris Literary Salons.
