From Rosemary Flannery: ":I will talk about how I came to design my cards as an artist, with beautiful Paris as my inspiration, and then developed it into a small business. During this brief career my cards sold (and continue to sell at the moment) at the Hotel de Crillon, the American Embassy, musee Carnavalet, la Banque de l'Image, Open Bus Tour, as well as at the Librairie de France in NY and other venues. I was chosen as a panelist to speak at the Salon des Micro-entreprises for the Rendez-vous des Micro-entrepreneurs Anglo-Saxons at the Palais des Congres, Paris, in 2006. "... As the years went by, I also realized that the feeling of being foreign and other, transcends even race. You are not part of their (French) culture. It doesn't matter who you are or of what origin you are. You're either French (in your head and behavior), or not. When I began to see that, I began to identify myself as an expat. The sum of being an American who lives in Paris, an African-American trying to find roots here, minus not being French - but seeing life internationally - on a large scale and permanently, equals my personal experience of being an expat."

"Celebrating Life: Mandalas " Creating Your Own Mandala
Interactive. About Mandalas: Photos: Groups of Expats Chez Patricia Mandalas are used in many spiritual traditions, most notably within Tibetan Buddhism but also within Native American traditions. Modern Jungian psychology also uses the mandala as a way of exploring the hidden recesses of self.
Mandalas are used in many spiritual traditions, most notably within Tibetan Buddhism but also within Native American traditions. Modern Jungian psychology also uses the mandala as a way of exploring the hidden recesses of self. Mandalas are one of the oldest art forms in existence. They have been used throughout the ages as a way of creating healing energy and inner peace. They are used to understand out life experiences and ourselves: a way of celebrating your life.
From Nancy Caldwell: "Ever since I was a child, my dream was to wake up each morning and spend the day being creative. Then to share these creations in a way that would bring joy to others, and inspire them to create something themselves. You might call it a version of “pay it forward.”
Over the years I have been an award-winning artist, a clothes and jewelry designer, and currently creating paper art in the form of handmade journals. Writing is always a part of my creative process. As my life changes, I discover new ways to express myself creatively and believe to be a kind of centering, healing process for me. So when I witnessed Tibetan monks creating mandalas (an ancient art form) I was intrigued. After researching and studying this art form, I began to experiment on creating one for myself. I thought about creating personalized healing mandalas as a business, but that did not feel right to me. So in the spirit of my childhood dream, it occurred to me that I could teach others to create their own, something they would benefit from far more than me doing it for them." Nancy's website is: http://www.paperarchitect.com/ ADDRESS: Chez Patricia: 13 rue de Mulhouse, 75002 Paris. Metro: Sentier (line 3). Take the rue des Petits Carreaux exit (very important). The Ultimate Social Networking Opportunity. Great Food And Wine. Conviviality. Speaker After the Cocktail. You Always Meet New And Interesting People! MAKE CONTACTS: FOR SOCIALIZING, BUSINESS, SELF-DEVELOPMENT. . Weds 3 October At 18h45. Our Guest Of Honor: Veronique Bessonat Business Training Consultant "SELLING: Selling Your Ideas. Selling Your Services. Selling Yourself."
Veronique Bessonat began a career in sales in 1983, after studies at the Sorbonne in Economics, and has never stopped. She found sales to be the perfect way to sharpen her own business tools while teaching others to succeed. Helping others to succeed has always been one of her goals. She has created seven portfolios of customers in the fields of banking, investments, commercial training and advertising.
From Veronique:
Companies: Usually I ask the manager how much turnover he expects after the training. We discuss the possibilities to get it. Then, I present a plan, saying that the budget must be “covered” at least 3 times by the new margin. It works. Recently, I had to make 10% more turnover in two months. We had 15% more in one month.
Individuals: I ask: how much you want to earn with your activity. And we discuss the steps to get there, and how we can make it, taking into account their personality, customers, competitors and services. And this works too, mostly because people feel that I really back them up. They feel that I want them to succeed. Patricia writes on being an Expat : "...
THANK YOU! For Happy Birthday cards, greetings and gifts - if you haven't heard from me personally yet. (It's today October 1st) All the best, Patricia
